Conrad Richardson (W4RCY)

February 19, 2008

Conrad was a radio operator/ navigator who flew 35 missions in the "Mighty Eight" Air Force. I know he really valued the friendships he shared on radio through the Carolinas and Virginia . Conrad was also a member of the jokers net. From my childhood I remember his mobile rigs (a combination of ww2 gear and Gonset) that he used as he traveled in his work. I also remember a wonderful Christmas in the 50's at his house when he created a beam out of bamboo and talked to SA with 10 watts on a hallicrafters and viking setup. What Magic! One could not have a better uncle. His humor, kindness, and intellect will be missed by all who knew him. "Oh! I have slipped the surly bonds of earth And danced the skies on laughter-silvered wings" 73 Buddy
