Lawrence's previous callsign was WA0OFV. He started building his own radios as a child and continued to be actively involved with HAM radio until a few years ago when his health began to decline. Until that time, many of his evenings and weekends were spent on the air or building equipment. Lawrence was active with the Boy Scouts, the Lions Club and with his church. He was a generous, friendly, witty man who was well liked in his community. Lawrence lived his entire life in the Kansas City area, including Independence, Lexington, and Higginsville, Missouri. Lawrence is survived by two brothers, a sister, six children and ten grandchildren. There will be a visitation service at 1pm on Friday, 10/20/00, followed by a memorial service at 2pm at Langsford Funeral Home in Lee's Summit, Missouri. In addition, there will a memorial service at 2pm on Saturday, 10/21/00, at the First Christian Church in Lexington, Missouri. Contributions can be made in his memory to the Boy Scouts of America Big Muddy District
