Tom Evans (WJ1C)

Mar 24, 2008

CT mourns the loss of Tom Evans, W1JC who became a silent key Monday. Tom was well known for, among other things, his antenna designs and business as well as his work in QCWA and other aspects of Amateur Radio. Check out the wonderful tribute in Tuesday's Hartford Courant. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in his memory to ARRL. Arrangements: Thursday, March 27, at Vincent Funeral Home, 880 Hopmeadow Street, Simsbury, CT. Many thanks to Bob W1CNY, Al W1FXQ and Gary K1MQ for continually keeping us updated. Respectfully submitted: N1TAI

Mr Evans elmered me from his home in Simsbury and Tom jr answered Tom Sr,s door bell to a young teenager way back then and Mr Evans gave me the inspiration to have been in radio for the past 50 years. Rest in Peace Tommy, you are with us always.
