Howard Gould (W9HG)

January 4th 2008

Howie will be missed by many friends inside and outside of the amateur radio community. Licensed in 1955 Mr. Gould touched many people along his path. A straight forward man that spoke kindly and offered words of encouragement. Accomplished in all that he had braved and captured all of our hearts Howie was most certainly a good man.

I just learned this past weekend at Dayton of Howie's passing. When I was starting out in radio, I went to Field Day with the Norwood (MA) ARC, and Howie was the star op. He took me under his wing, and taught me how to have fun on the radio. I have gone on to win many awards in contesting, and I owe them all to Howie. RIP, OM.
