October 28 2000

RV0AM, one of the mainstays of the RK0AXX club station in Krasnoyarsk, passed away from a stroke the day before CQWW SSB 2000. This information comes from Victor RK0AX. Thanks Robert, for all the contest QSOs through the years from zone 18. Peace.

Bob was the founder of the club station RX0AXX ex UK0AMM, U0Y. He started as UA0AAK then he was RB5FH, RB5FH/mm in Odessa UKRAINE. For the last 10 years he was known as RV0AM - it was in Krasnoyarsk RUSSIA. Everybody here in the former SU miss him. When this news came it was a shock...

Bob was my first Zone 18 on 10 meters. I just recently received a card for an older 40 meter QSO. I will miss his signal on the bands.
