Phil Herndon (W6WAG)
August 28, 2008
Phil was a good friend, though not a technical elmer, more of an example to me of what Amateur Radio is really all about. He could even recite the calls and names of friends from years past right to the end. The photo shown is exactly the way he was all the time. Because he could not get out much, Amateur Radio was almost everything as far as friends are concerned. If you were in a bind and he could help, he would with at least encouragement and often more. Though my wife and I had only known him a year and a half he was so influential it seemed he was always there and always would be.
NO6L, clear with W6WAG. 73 and rest in peace my friend. Rest in peace.
