Bob Malloy (WI5J)

19 April 2002

I remember Bob as the first ham I ever met. He had a Heathkit rig in his car (I remember by the green color of the cabinet) that seemed to never 'talk'. That was about the early 50's so perhaps the bands weren't all that busy. It might also have been a 2 meter rig. Many years after that, I got my license when I lived in S. TX and made contact with him then moved away and lost track. He was a cheerful contribution to the amateur radio service. RIP Bob. 73, Ted
