Vernon Whaley (WB4YEL)

Vernon G. Whaley, 81, a life long resident of Cleveland, passed away Tuesday, January 6, 2009 at the family residence. He was a charter member of Valley View Baptist Church. He was a member of the Cleveland Amature Radio Club with call letters WB4YEL. He was a retired member of the International Association of Heat and Frost Insulators and Asbestos Workers Local # 46. He was employed with the Local #46 for thirty seven years. He was a veteran of the United States Army serving in Korea. Vernon could be found just about every night talking to his close friends on the Cleveland Amateur Radio Club repeater 146.925. Vernon was a very devoted member of C.A.R.C. He will be sadly missed by all who knew him.
