Leonard Gongalski (N8NEK)

November 28,2000

Len was the friendliest ham I've ever known. He would give anybody the shirt off his back, if they needed it. You could always hear him chatting away on 15 meters during the winter months up here in Michigan, while his snow-bird friends tanned themselves in Arizona. Len never knew how to just say hi on the air. He wanted to know you and share some of himself with you, if you'd let him. He was a great baker too. Many a visitor would not only be greeted with a hot cup of coffee, but a batch of hot cookies too! Len was a professional scuba diver and ran his own dive shop till he retired. He also became active with a newly formed club in our city and volunteered to become it's very first treasurer. This old town just isn't going to be the same. We'll miss you buddy.

I also will miss Len,he was a Great guy and friend. It will be a much colder and longer winter without Lens warm and friendly voice.
