It was an honor to know this man. He was full of history. He was very proficient in mechanical and electronics. He had a long career with the FAA starting back when it was the CAA. He will be missed.

Alan was a great man. I first met him at the Kilocycle Club in Fort Worth 1976 while taking a Novice class. I remember a very neat and clean J-pole antenna he made for two meters. It was constructed from angle aluminum. He will be missed by all his Amateur and non Amateur friends.

Alan Was a great man. I first met him in 1976 at the Kilocycle Club in Fort Worth during my Novice Class. He made a real slick two meter J-Pole out of Heavy Duty Aluminum angle. Very sturdy, and could easily be attached to a pole with hose clamps. I don't know if this was original or not, but very nice. The last couple of years Marty and myslf helped Alan with some of his home projects due to his declining health. He always had a good story to tell. Especially about his FAA days.
