Bill Kuczewski (N8SDQ)

November 2 2008

Bill and I have been friends well over 20 years. We met on cb and eventually both of us got our ham ticket. Bill loved working 6m and 2m ssb. In the summer you could find Bill working the tropo openings on 2m and the E-Skip on 6m. Bill never upgraded to general so the only dx on hf he was able to work was on 10m but man did he have fun when the band opened. Bill was a very good and considerate operator I honestly can't remember him having an argument on the air. I've been to his home many times over the years and one thing I remember about him was that he always had a big smile on his face!! He was a very happy go lucky kind of guy. Even in the last few years or so as his health problems got worse he kept smiling. And boy could he rag chew he would key down and away he would go, I used to raz him about his long transmissions he would make any am op proud hi hi. I used to talk with Bill at least 3 or 4 times a week on 2m ssb. I really miss our long rag chews. Terry VE3TMG
