Whayne Wisner (K4JDI)

July 1, 2009

Whayne Taylor Wisner WISNER, WHAYNE TAYLOR "K4JDI," 76 passed away Wednesday, July 1, 2009, at his home. He was a retired maintenance electrician, an amateur radio operator since the late 1940's, an Air Force veteran of the Korean War, and member of Summit Heights United Methodist Church, Aurora Masonic Lodge, and J-Walkers Square Dance Club. He was preceded in death by his sons, Scott, Roger and Raymond Wisner. He is survived by his wife, JoAnn Wisner; daughters, Vicki Whittinghill (Greg), Pamela Smith (Mark), and Sandra Brown (Michael); daughter-in-law, Robin Wisner; son, Jeffrey Wisner (Ingrid); 12 grandchildren; and 15 great-grandchildren. Above is Whayne's obituary as it appeared in the Louisville Courier-Journal. I would just add that Whayne was a kind and generous man, and quite the storyteller. I always enjoyed our conversations. He was a great elmer to me and many others, and he will surely be missed. See you on the other side, Whayne! 73
