Richard "Dick" Peacock (W2GFF)

February 6, 2010

I met Dick when I retired here to the Gulf Coast in 2003. Dick was 90 and quite a man and ham. His creative mind was perfect through his 90 years. He was both a maritime and airborne radio op during his working years. He still used his beloved bug, and was a terrific CW op. Dick was always building, experimenting and helping other hams. He was on the DXCC Honor Roll, and had over a hundred entities on 6 meters. 73 were indeed a role model! John W4II

I once volunteered to do a ham radio presentation at a local assisted living facility. I soon realized I was in over my head and called upon Dick for help. He responded by carefully preparing handouts, props, etc. and he and I had a great time doing the presentation together. Dick was always willing, even anxious to help. 73 OM. David,KF4ZRI
