Robert B. Daney (Sr.) (W8RBR)

12/30/2009

Ham Radio has lost a wonderful person. Rob Daney (Sr.), age 90, and a ham operator for 73 years, died peacefully in his sleep on December 30, 2009. Rob was a great radio technician with a love of CW operation. He was a member of the 62nd Signal Battalion of World War II and maintained weekly schedules with many of his World War II Army buddies for over 50 years. He was preceded in death by his loving wife, Millie, call sign K8QPT. His death is reported by his son, Bob (Jr.), call sign WD8LIC.
