Richard L. (Ricky Lee) Smith (KC4RIC)
May 1, 2010
Ricky Lee was a very good friend to many people in this hobby. He always had kind words for everyone and could brighten even the worst days with his wit. Ricky was one of the net controllers on the Rooster Net, and was a familiar voice in the Black Sheep Lounge. RIP my friend, You will forever be missed on the Northern Fringe Of The Great Dismal Swamp and anywhere else you were known.

Ricky Lee was one of the finest ham operators I have ever spoken to. Loved to hear him talk about the Swamp and his cats. "Have a great Navy Day Rickie"

I've enjoyed talking to Ricky Lee on 3938 in the evenings, and hearing him check into the North Carolina Single Side Band Net. He was a nice guy who really seemed to enjoy our hobby.
He was really proud of his station and loved using his "Mark V with the Quadra."
(It will be strange not hearing his voice say that combination).
Take care Ricky Lee, you'll be missed.
