A true gentleman. I always enjoyed talking to Don whenever I ran into him. I also admitted his antenna farm west of Esparto. We’ll miss him.

I remember Don coming in to the HRO in Oakland when I was the manager. He was always a gentleman and was about the most knowledgeable ham I'd ever met about mobile HF operation. My deepest sympathies to his family, he will be missed by many in the ham community. God Speed OM.

Don was a real thinking mans ham. He was proud to show off his homemade designs for antennas and amps. His second love of life was flying and the MARS flying boats; of which he loved to talk about for hours out in the backyard garden. He was quick to make friends and had stories of old that made you long to have been their. I am sorry he had to go west but like all time marches on. May we all be togeather once again eventually. Just one more example of how short life is and how quickly its over. He used to say live every day like it was your last and get out their and do it while your young. I will miss our sats in the garden Don. May you find your own wings... RIP

Don will be missed,Probably the most knowledgeable guy on mobile installations. My condolences to his family. Glad i purchased his Screwdriver Antennas.

Don was one heckuva fella. I spoke with him on the phone a few times and bought instructions from him (as well as a copy of his book on mobile ops). He sent me some small items for free that I wasn't expecting. One very nice guy! He's missed... -WY3X

Don's memorial service will be JULY 18 2010 at the Sacramento Executive Airport, Freedom and 43rd. Services to start at 2PM with buffet style meal to follow at 3PM
