Mike Dill (K5BZM)

08/24/2010

Mike passed away late in the afternoon. I got to know Mike after I moved to Abilene, KS and went to a club meeting. He took me under his wings as a mentor and showed me what is out there. He opened his station to a newbie for the June 2006 U/Vhf contest. I had no idea what I was doing, but I had a blast. Eventually I found out that I was in the top scorers for Kansas. He will be missed by the Dickinson Ham community.

Having known Mike for many years I am saddened to learn he has become a SK. Mike is from the same area of Oklahoma I lived in during the 60's and 70's and when I moved to McPherson County Kansas in the 80's I found him of 2mSSB and discovered he was close to me and we visted on the air often and at each others homes from time to time. Very gentle man and was good to have known him he will be missed. Bob
