Harry Teegarden (K0XK)

April 8, 2011

Harry Teegarden K0XK (formerly W0FSI) passed away today following a lengthy illness. A former Merchant Marine radio operator, Harry retired from the Federal Aviation Administration as an electronic technician. Harry was my Elmer and brought me into the ham radio fraternity in 1993 as a tech plus. He was a CW fanatic and made sure I passed my code test at 13 wpm even though I was just a tech! I used to listen to him on his nightly sked with his old Merchant Marine buddies, running CW up in the 50 wpm range. He will be missed.
