Richard McGuire (KF3CF)

June 19, 2012

Richard "Rich" passed away on June 19 of natural causes. He was active on all bands, especially the 2 meter repeaters, from Newark, DE. He loved mobiling from his 1941 Hudson. He was also a Broadcast Engineer/Technician and was heard on several local stations as a DJ/announcer. I've known Rich for 48 years and he was a close friend. I'll miss his wit and intelligent conversation. We've had many fun times together!

What a shock. What a character. We had SO MUCH fun together. He had his car, his little Airstream, his infectious humour. When another ham he didn't know at all got in trouble, I took this guy's car to Rich's and we stowed it there for months. We had many an innocent misadventure. We helped each other with all kinds of radio stuff. By statute there is no replacement for Rich McGuire.
