Bill Homer (KA3ERO)
July 8, 2012
William Innes (Bill) Homer died after long illness. He was a brilliant, affable, very accomplished man. He was a world renowned art historian, graduate of Princeton and Harvard, and the reocgnized authority on Thomas Eakins, among others. He leaves behind wonderful loving family and friends. I knew him as a customer at HRO, but, by serendipitous coincidence, his first wife is a dear friend of my in-laws, so that when he surfaced here again, we had a whole different conversation. I got to drag him out to look at radios, go over his beautiful house to counsel him. He was working on an article for QST that is his own history of ham radio, which he loved. If that article has not already been submitted we will try to find it and get it done. I got to visit him last week and talk to him. It was wonderful and I am grateful.
