CECIL BLAIR (N1DBO)


JULY 9, 2012


Cecil Blair age 93 of Beverly MA passed away surrounded by his family on July 9, 2012. A radio operator on the USCG Tampa during WWII saw action in both the North Atlantic and South Pacific. While in the North Atlantic aided in the rescue of troops from the USS Dorchester renowned for the Four Chaplains. Also part of the team at Western Electric and Bell Labs that created the Beep Ball for the blind to play softball. Active ham from 1979 mainly on HF.
