JERRY E. JACKSON (WA4COF)
Pre xerox(1964), Jerry was our neighbor and became my first elmer. He homebrewed his entire station that was on 6 meter AM. I made a schematic of his rig on butcher paper. He surprised me by giving me a used Heathkit AR-3 out of gratitude. That opened a whole new world to me. I was a teenager and the radio bug bit hard. He also had a
radio/tv repair business and tolerated
me looking over his shoulder many nights. My incessant questions would have put Job to the test.
Circumstances kept me from realizing my dream of a ham ticket for 28 more years. Because of the inspiration of this tolerant, longsuffering gentleman the dream never died-it just lay dormant. I finally made it to extra and ve.I have had many enjoyable hours in this great hobby and public service. One of my sons got his license one year ago today.
Thanks OM and 73, de Jerry,ke4ety
