Robert Anderson (K2BJG)

July 2012

Robert was definitely one of a kind. He was a driving force in the Sussex County Amateur Radio Club, and a key force in their Packet and APRS networks. He was one of those people who could infuriate you with his drive and at the same time, impress you with his exacting knowledge. When our local Node network did not meet his expectations, he drove 100 miles and install a proper one. If your TNC was down, BOb would take it and repair it. I felt bad when he retired to Florida and missed him, but would hear from him if our system had a problem. Somehow he had figured out how to link to it from Florida, and slowly recognized his extensive knowledge and willingness to help. Bob will be missed by anyone who loved or loves, APRS, or Packet. I am sure he is trying to connect to our network right now, and hope it is from above. :}
