Gary Engwer (N1NSJ)
we are sad to report , we have lost Gary Engwer, N1NSJ on June 5, 2013. he died of cancer at age 51 he was the son of Charlene Engwer of Dalton and the late William Engwer. he leaves 7 siblings, and many nieces and nephews, also his beloved cat "hotshot". funeral will be private for his family.( see Berkshire Eagle obit June 12, 2013).
Gary was on the board of NOBARC this past year and traveled in his well lit, motorized wheel chair along the streets of Pittsfield from his Linden st. home to the meetings at the Masonic lodge.
In his earlier years Gary delivered newspapers by car to the hill towns-since Gary listened to our repeaters a lot, he was available to assist in getting help with an emergency situation by radio, and then by phone. at least two or three times are well documented when he lent assistance. a more enthusiastic, ham, you could not find. I know he would have done more, except he was limited by his mobility. the "Nasty snow job" will be missed by us all.
de, Pat, N1LZH.

I just heard about Gary, we talked many times late at night and I enjoyed each conversation. He will be missed
