CHARLES A BENNETT (N5CFN)

Charles was a Sunday school teacher and former member of Oloh Baptist Church, Pineview Baptist Church (charter member) and longtime member of Central Baptist Church in Hattiesburg with 27 years of bus ministry. He was an amateur radio operator since the 1950s beginning in Houston, TX. Charles loved to collect and repair antique radios. He first joined the Mississippi Army Reserve National Guard in 1956 and was employed at New Orleans Furniture Company before being employed at C.S.M.S. at Camp Shelby, Mississippi. He retired and received his discharge in 1999. Charles was a Christian who put God, family, church and veterans first. He was preceded in death by his parents, Charlie M. Bennett and Lizzie E. Bennett. He is survived by his sister, Charlene Cavanaugh of Oloh; two brothers, George L. Bennett and James E. Bennett, both of Oloh; many nieces, nephews and great nieces and nephews.
