Always in good health, Crit passed over a three month period from HLH [Google it] Prev AB4KQ, he was a kind and compassionate man, always in a good mood and quick with a joke or quip. He loved CW and made contacts just for the fun of the contact. Definitely wasn't into paper chasing or contesting. He was an MD as well, but you wouldn't know it by the way he acted and lived, or by his house. Also known as Critter, he was my Elmer, getting me started with the gift of a G5RV antenna, complete with ladder line. I think secretly he was jealous that I had many tall oak trees on my property to string it up in [65feet up]. He unfortunately lived in the city and couldn't put up anything other than a vertical or yagi. With his encouragement , I started with an Icom 735, and made ssb contacts all over the world. I have made the resolution to learn CW in his memory. His wise advise and quiet guidance will be sorely missed by me, and especially his wife. Rest well, my friend.

I worked Crit several times on cw over the years, we always had nice chats about gear, ham radio in general and cw specifically. He will be missed. Tim NZ8J
