Pasquale "Pat" Labato (W8DLU)

11/29/92

This one is certainly "dated", but worth posting. For years, Pat hosted a group that met on 7280 every weekday afternoon at 3:00. I participated in that group during the 70s (after school) and into the 80s (after I got home from work). Pat was a terrific guy, a technically adept ham, and a singer/entertainer. He often spoke of his days on the road in the 40s and 50s. He's been gone a long time now, but I still miss him.

Further to above, I recently read about the passing of Ed Bolton - WA3PUN. He resided in Harrisburg, PA, and left us in November 2014. Ed was a regular participant in the 40M group I mention above, and was active in ham radio right to the end. He was very active on 80M AM, using a beautiful old WRL Globe King 500.
