Earl J. Martin (W9KKJ)

October 3, 2014

My late father became a silent key at the age of 93 on October 3, 2014. Dad listened much more than he transmitted and was instrumental in getting me interested in ham radio - eventually. He also was my first contact as a novice. It was a whole 3 blocks but I was very proud of the qsl card. 73's all AA9ZY

Earl! What a guy. You could have worked around - the - clock, trying to dislike him. And you would have wasted your time. Earl was where Decency and Humor met. He will remain, one of the better influences in my life.
