When I was just starting out in radio contesting I would have reason to call the ARRL contest desk. Usually my call would be answered by Bill and he always seemed to have time to answer my question or help me out and he always would have me rolling on the floor laughing before the phone call was over.

I had the good fortune of working with Bill...he was perhaps the funiest person I ever knew. I was a teenager at the time and Bill could make tears roll down my face and my stomach ache from laughter.
Very quiet except when he wasn't - THEN WATCH OUT!
