Keigh Deringer (WA4KD)

DERINGER, Mr. Keith Mitchell, 63, of Richmond, passed away Sunday, May 31, 2015 after a long illness. He was preceded in death by his parents, Douglas M. Deringer and Jean S. Philpy; stepmother, Jane Flower Deringer; and stepdad, B.D. Philpy, DVM. He is survived by his loving wife, Sara Deringer; brothers, D.M. Deringer, Brooke Philpy, David Deringer, stepbrothers, B.D. "Flip" Philpy and Donald Philpy; sister, Nancy V. Philpy; and several nieces and nephews. Keith was an artistic photographer and maintained a website, www.keithderinger-the-art-of- photography.com. He was also a licensed ham radio operator (WA4KD) and an avid collector of music. He retired from the Virginia Department of Health and was also a retired Respiratory Therapist. He loved all animals and will be sorely missed by his beloved cats, Spooky Tooth and Habibi. The family would like to express their thanks to the wonderful nursing staff and medical team of Hospice of Virginia Inpatient Unit at Retreat Doctors' Hospital by requesting a donation be made to Hospice of Virginia, 2621 Grove Ave., Richmond, Va. 23220. Also, please remember to support your local arts community and by all means take in "First Fridays" art exhibition celebrations. The family will receive friends from 5 to 8 p.m. Friday, June 5, 2015, at the Parham Chapel, Woody Funeral Home, 1771 N. Parham Rd., Richmond, Va. 23229. A memorial service will take place at 2 p.m. Saturday, June 6, 2015, at St. Stephen's Episcopal Church, 6000 Grove Ave., Richmond, Va. 23226. Condolences may be made at www.woodyfuneral home.com.
