Wurb Stampfli (KD6KME)

Sept. 30, 2005

Many VHF/UHF operators in Northern California in the 90's probably remember Wurb. With his long, drawn out "KD6....KME" he was very distinctive on the air. He worked as the fire lookout on Berryessa Peak during fire season, and was a very active ham during his time in the lookout tower. Wurb was always there to help out on any project, ham related or not. A kind man, who life was always serving other, either during his time in the fire service or as a volunteering his time for many different activities.
