jim nye, k6gcf was the amateur radio voice of Big Bear Valley calif, he was an avid dxer, has done well in his dxcc honor roll, active in both hf and vhf practices, jim will be missed, was responsible for big bear amateur radio club membership of over 300 members. had a fantastic way of talking to people over the radio to have them become instant friends and always made them feel welcome....

I worked with Jim at the LearCal Division of Lear, Inc. in Los Angeles in the 1950's. I was General Manager of the division at the time. We manufactured two way radio equipment and automatic pilots for the General Aviation market place. He was always a friend and a big help to all he came in contact with, both socially and in the business world. An interesting fellow with an unending appetite for knowledge in our wonderful hobby of amateur radio. All in all, a gentleman and friend I will miss. 73 de Ken K6IR

Forgot to mention in my prior comments that I first worked Jim on 3 July 1955.....46 years ago on 40 meters. He was living in Santa Monica at that time. His XYL is Dorothy, KC6DOP, as I recall. Ah, the good ol' days. 73 de Ken K6IR
