Sam Kumukahi (KH6AFS)


November 24, 2001


Sam was licensed and active since 1951. He gave many their first contact with Hawaii. Sam was a member of QRP ARCI #10533, Hawaii QRP Club #007 and Hilo ARC. He was employed by the State of Hawaii, Department of Transportation. He was also an auctioneer for the famous fish auction in Hilo, a composer, Hawaiian culture lecturer and member of the Coast Guard Auxiliary. He is survived by his wife Florence KH6BGE and daughter Kuuipo. Sam was always polite with the "Spirit of Aloha." Those who knew him personaly agree he was a "Gentle Giant!" 72, 73, Aloha Sam!
