Returned to Jamaica in 2000, having spent 40 years in the UK. We live on the South coast about 60 miles West of Kingston near Malvern. At just over 2200ft ASL and 3 air-miles inland of the coastline, we enjoy a panoramic view of the surrounding lowlands looking out to the sea horizon. Ideal location for radio but open to the elements, especially during the hurricane season. The station comprise mainly Kenwood equipment and a 5 band cubical quad although I have recently built and currently use a couple of dipoles and a vertical for 160M. I operate 99% CW and thoroughly enjoy the mode. I’m also a member of the FISTS CW club.
We offer holiday accommodation next to our home and the shack is also available for Hams who are interested in operating from 6Y5.
