ALL QSLs direct, NO BUREAU.   Include the usual IRCs or two greenstamps with SAE/SASE for DX stations. SASEs from US. A green stamp thrown in extra is appreciated since we get hundreds of QSL card requests to confirm KH6.  Since December 2007 we have answered approximately 6000 QSL cards directly.  We don't collect QSL cards, but we are happy to confirm Zone 31 and KH6. However, it does take money to print all the cards we send out, and printing QSLs is a big cost. AS OF MAY, 2009 THE COST FOR LETTERS TO DX STATIONS IS NOW $.98.  One dollar no longer covers the cost of printing the QSLs and DX postage.  IRCS SENT AFTER SEPTEMBER 1 MUST BE NEW STYLE

The station sits at 820 feet above sea level and is about 3000 feet from the Pacific, resulting in a big rolling drop to the Pacific Ocean in the direction of North America, Europe and Asia.

The picture, shot from the lanai (front porch) shows the 150 foot tower which is 475 feet from the shack toward the Pacific Ocean, looking toward North America and Western Europe. The station is located in on the Hamakua Coast on the norhteast corner of the Big Island

Currently, the station consists of three KT36XA antennas at 92/56/29 feet, and are independently rotated. The stack of KT36XAs are operated in phase by means of a WX0B Stackmatch which allows various combinations of the antennas.

There is also a stack of 40 meter Yagis at 150 and 80 feet. The top antenna rotates 360 degrees while the lower rotates from JA through Europe to North America to South America, allowing for a full stack to 95% of the world's ham popualtion. They also use the Stackmatch for phasing.

On 80 meters there is a system of three 2-element looped arrays facing NE,NW, and SW.

The station is now active on 160 with a 100 foot wire vertical with a T-top suspended by a caternary line.  The radial system consists of 60 1/4 wave buried radials

An A-3 WS has been put on the tower at around 42 feet for the WARC bands.  Currently it is fixed to the north but will be rotatable in several months.  For 6 meters a 7 el KLM is currently fixed toward the mainland.

Operators for the station are K4XS and WH7YL.

We look forward to working you either in daily operations or in contests. In the future the station will be available for a daily rental for visitors to the Big Island.
