Hi,

I am a 100% mobile station, due to the area in which I live in. I spend most of my time on 20m and 40m and the photograph below is of my van with my homebrew antenna's which are the mobile cobweb which covers 10m - 20m and takes about 10 minutes to set up and also my 1/4 wave vertical at 10.2 meters tall for 40m.

On 40m I normally use a homebrew 1/4 wave vertical which is about 10.2m (33') tall and is fixed to the roof rack of the van. When i am driving i use either a Comment whip CHS 14 (20m) or the CHS 7 (40).

I now manufacture mobile cobwebs, 1/4 verticals, mast poles and drive on bases, please follow the link to veiw my small web site.

This is the old van

This is my latest experiment which is a 20m 2 element beam with a couple of traps.

The inside of the van is set up with a 7" colour screen, Signalink for digital modes and the laptop

My normal location for dxing is along the sea shore by Southampton water if you follow the link you can get a real time view, I try to park the van within a couple of meters of the shore, even if it gets splashed by the waves!!!!

This locations WAB is SU50

I go out Dxing most Friday night's from 17.00 UTC to about midnight. Working on 20m and 40m I have the van set up with a weather station so I can give you a real weather report if you wish. The transceiver is the ICOM 7000 with Bob Naggy's (AB5N) great mic modification, this is the link to Bob's site this is a must if you are using a 7000 with the standard mic.

If you send a QSL direct there is no need to send money with it as I will always send you a return QSL direct free. I operate Ham Radio Deluxe connected to the internet via my mobile phone which will automatically log your information from QRZ. Com. This will automatically send you an EQSL and at the same time I am watching the cluster so if you spot me i will give you a call. QSL cards from SWL's are always welcome and will be replied to.

Many thanks 73 and good luck!

Richard
