My radio interests have always centered around public service and CW operating.
In terms of public service I have enjoyed using my licensing and skills to help
with communications during hurricanes, floods and local events in the St. Louis
region. I believe that being an amateur carries certain responsibility to use
ones talents to serve others. In terms of operating, I love CW and it has been
my only mode of pleasure communications on the HF bands since the day I was
first licensed. Locally, I enjoy the repeater/simplex contacts that keep hams
in touch on a day-to-day basis.
I am a member of the ARRL, QCWA, FISTS, NAQCC, SKCC and ARES. I am an ARRL Official Relay
Station (ORS) and a member of the ARRL A-1 Operator Club. I am the letter
"O" & "T" Sorter for the WØ QSL Bureau - Visit us at the WØ QSL Bureau - as well as a Net Control Station (NCS) for the Missouri
Section of NTS (MON-CW traffic net) and the Region TEN NTS Cycle 4 CW traffic
net. I am a member of the St. Louis and Suburban Radio Cub, the Mississippi
Valley DX and Contest Club, and the OMIK Amateur Radio Association. The station is a Ten Tec Jupiter, Begali Simplex Pro paddle, Brown Brothers CTL-A paddle, a VizKey Cootie Key, a retro-fitted Vibroplex single paddle Cootie Key or a Whiterook MK-32 Cootie Key, 160 m inverted "L", 80 m dipole, 40 m doublet, Hustler 6-BTV, or mono-band 40 m vertical. If your interested in the Cootie (sideswiper) key and methods of keying you can visit the Sideswiper Net for details, pictures, links and more. For more information and pictures, please visit my website, and look for me most often on 80, 40, 30 and 20 meters; and, CW of course! |
