Hello Everybody................
My name is Razi Naji , I born in Baghdad 1974. I got my license four years ago and I like this hobby since long time when I was a kid .My previous callsign was YI1RAZ
Let me tell you about my Equipments :
My Radio is old version from kenwood it is TS-130SE pushing 100 Watts with my vertical multiband antenna from Fretzil GPA-50 , this antenna was designed to work for 80m , 40m , 20m , 15m and 10m but i use it just for high band 20m , 15m and 10m and it is very good antenna and by using this antenna i made many Radio QSO's around the world , this antenna needs three groundplanes but, i set it in my garden without any groundplanes and it is work very well ( sometimes this antenna works as 3-ele Yagi ) .....
.
I
My Radio
I am using my old Radio TS-130SE in SSB & CW, and most time also i use it in digital mode from 40 w to 60 w only with BPSK31 , BPSK63 , RTTY , MFSK16 and OLIVIA . And sometimes i am using another station from kenwood it is also old version but it is QRP 10 w only it is : TS-130V i use it only when the propagation is good.
My other Kenwood Radio is TS-430S pushing 100W but i ust it only to listening to the ham radio on the 160m band because i do not have this band in my TS-130SE Radio and alos because i do not have enough space here in my house to build this antenna on 160m band , i tried many times to build this antenna and my friend Igor RA3CQ helped me too much to do that and i built a vertical antenna with loading coil to reduce the length of the wire but it is failed for DX or exactly for Sky wave and i tried many times to calling CQ on this band by using this antenna but no one answered me . I am still looking for a suitable design for this antenna in my limited space.

My other hobby is Radio Astronomy , i love this science very much because it has a good relationship with our hobby ham radio , and by this science you can receive some signals from our solar system or from out of our solar system depending on your equipments and your antennas , if you have a good all HF receiver and by using tow dipoles connected as in-phase or anti-phase array you can receive the decametric emission from the jupiter planet and also by using the same antenna you can also receive the radio activity from the Sun and for more info visit this link: http://radiojove.gsfc.nasa.gov/ , and let me tell you something , i got all these information about the radio astronomy and Decametric emission and solar Radio activity from my friend Richard S. Flagg ( AH6NM ) , he helped me so much in Radio Astronomy and he sent to me a very important book its name : Listening to Jupiter , by Richard S. Flagg , And you can find this book in this link : http://www.radiosky.com/booksra.html .
I am using these equipments in Radio astronomy: Racal Receiver RA-1772 all HF high quality AM , SSB , ISB and CW receiver from 150KHz to 30 MHz .

Also i have Win Radio wide band receiver WR-3500e from 150KHz to 2.6 GHz with spectrum analyser for this band by using computer monitor and also this receiver has a very good quality signal recorder as a wave format.

some times when the signals which is coming from the sun or Jupiter is strong enough you can use your HF transceiver to receive it , but you have to shutdown the AGC system if you have a control on it to get perfect reception.
I worked with these tow projects and i am first one in Iraq worked with Radio astronomy to receive the Decametric emission from the Jupiter planet and to receive the radio bursts from the sun.i tried also to receive the decemetric emission from the Jupiter and the The Hydrogen 21-cm Line ( 1420 MHz ) but i failed because i do not have suitable low noise receivers to do that and no one here in Iraq using these receivers..this is my story in Radio astronomy.
In 2m band i have 2 Radios :
1- Icom IC-2100
2- Kenwood TM-D700
Now let me tell you about my Antennas:
1- Fretzil vertical multiband antenna GPA-50 you know about it.

2- Homemade Vertical L/4 monoband Marconi antenna for 40m Band and it is very good antenna and i got many DX stations by using this antenna like: JA8BMK , PY5HOT , PY2SEX , JR1CFP and another Dx stations from Japan.
3- Homemade vertical inverted L antenna with L/4 length for 80m band and it is very good antenna for limited space and i got many DX stations by using this antenna with 100w SSB only like : W1NA , W1JR , W1FQ , W1FC/4 , AI2Q , K1RX , KF8DX and my friend Skip KE9L , PY5HOT and also another stations around the world.
4- Homemade Multiband fan diploe for 17M and 12M.
5- Homemade vertical Marconi L/4 antenna for 30m band .
6- Vertical L/4 antenna with three ground plans for 2m and also i have homemade slim-jim and 3-ele yagi for this band olso.
Recently, i got my new Radio in 6m band it is QRP station FT-690R it is only 2.5 Watts but i received many stations by using this nice Radio , But i could not make any QSO due to the low power.
Let me tell you about the most problem here in Iraq:
it is the Electric Power we can not get the electric power 24 hr so we using also the electrical generators , after 2003 every house in Iraq got a small generator 220v , 50 Hz , 10 Amp Maximum and also you can find here in Iraq in every street many houses sharing with a big generator like 3-phase 180KVA generator and each house takes about 10 amp max ,here in Iraq we called the electric power from the government the ( National electric power ) but you can not expect when it is come and when it is go , so if you found me on the air before 11:00 UTC i would like to know i am using an acidic Battery as a power supply at that time it is big Battery 12.7V 120 Ahr capacity................
.

After 11:00 UTC we use the electric generator four 4 hrs so you can find me at this time using digital mode like RTTY or BPSK31 or another mode because my computer is desktop and it is needs the electric power to work , sometimes when i am calling some stations on digital mode and suddenly i lost the power ( National or generator ) i would like to wait me 5 minutes to change the power source and come back again and i will thankful for you........ and i have Manual Change over to select the working either with power supply or with the Battery.
Sometimes when i do not have the electric power you can find me on the air by using my Battery as a power supply like this photo........hi hi

And about the Digital modes i would like to tell you about my computer:
P4 , Hdd: 250 GB , RAM 2GB , CPU 3 GHz , Homemade interface , System Software: Window Xp , Digital modes Software : MULTIPSK v.4.14. , Log Software : Winlog32 by G0CUZ.
In CW : If you found me on CW please , QRS your speed because i am using a small key with no more than 20 WPM.
And this is my new QSL card designed and printed by Emil-LZ3HI

Finally, Ham Radio for me like religion or faith , i can not live without Radio or exactly the Radio noise wishshshshshshsh.................
.
These are some photos from my city Baghdad:

My best wishes for all ham radio around the world.
73's and see you on the air..........
