Great antenna, no tuner required  Time owned: 3 to 6 months
A lot of hams are familiar with the PAR electronics end fed dipole antennas. If you read the eham reviews, over 200 operators rate this type of antenna 5 out of 5.

PA3EKE and PA3RK took this type of antenna to the next level. It all starts with the use of first class components. Silver coated connectors, stainless steel bolts and nuts, waterproof housing and light but strong antenna wire with almost no windload and weight.

The matching network is constructed after hours of fieldtest and the use of low loss elements makes it possible to use QRO power with some models. Most antennas are rated up to 200 watts or 300 watts pep. Some monobanders can be used with legal limit power.

I'm using the triband model optimised for 40/20/10 meters. SWR is almost perfect. The antenna makes it possible to work from 28Mhz up to 29Mhz with a swr that stays below 1,2:1. On the 20 meter band the complete 350 Khz is covered with a swr of 1,1:1. Even on 40 meters I can use the antenna from 7000 to 7200 Khz with a swr that does not bypass the 1,4:1. That is al fantastic.

Performance wise the end fed dipole outperfoms all my 1/4 wave verticals. I'm using a 20,05 meter long wire so the antenna even allows 15 meter operations with increased performance on 40 meters. The feedpoint sits at 50 feet in my tower and the antenna slopes down to about 12 feet above ground. Low angle dx is possible with some small gain in the lenght of the antenne sloping down.

Side by side comparing the HyEndFed antenna against my vertical with elevated radials makes this HyEndFed antenna a very good performer and thanks to the end fed solution even more practical for outdoor and holiday use with very good results to expect.

The signals are that good that I find myself working on the HyEndFed sloper dipole more often than planned because everytime the s-meter rises when I switch to this antenna.

I've purchased the 40/20/10 meter 200 watts pep model and I'm awaiting the final results on the planned 80/40 meters model that will replace my 80/40 inverted-v dipole as soon this model can be ordered online.

Perhaps soms find it a little expensive for a wire antenna but taken into account the high quality components and the performance, I'm glad I spend the money on this antenna and nothing else.

Simply put: fantastic holyday antenna or even for a permanent station where restrictions come in to play.

73, Phil ON4VP.
