Solid Unit  Time owned: 0 to 3 months
I purchased one a few weeks ago on clearance after looking at many generators last several months. The parts used to build it is what sold me on it. It uses a 9 HP Brigg's Vanguard series motor made in Japan by a division of Toyota and it is well known for smooth running, low oil consumption, easy starting, generous hi flow cooling, reliability and long life. Also features a more expensive brush-less alternator known for cleaner output, higher efficiency and high surge capacity which many home units do not to cut costs. Built for long haul. I have only logged a few hours on mine breaking it in, load testing it and putting fresh oil in it so it is ready to go. I test loaded it with 5300 watts using space heaters and unit handled it fine with reserve. Mine shows 60.7hz no load and 59.4 hz at 5300 watts. Voltage at outlets was 122 no load and 117 at 5300 watts. Generator maintains speed well even with a sudden heavy load from power tools. While not whisper quiet it is not very loud either. Very smooth running and does not vibrate like many do. Very easy starter and has only taken one easy pull the several times I test ran it. If you are in market for a generator and find one of these grab it as it is a no nonsense solid unit built with quality parts.
