Description: Technical characteristics
1 the use of digital filter design, with high selectivity and anti-imaging radio interference.
2 Dual 16Bit DAC with low distortion audio output.
3 the use of large-scale multi-stage AGC circuit, the better strong signal interference suppression.
4 the high-frequency resolution of 1dB SNR display and antenna input signal strength indicator.
5 built-in high-speed MCU circuit (acting on the AGC AFC IIC PGA VOLCRT .......)。
6 AM-band auto-tuning circuit design.
7 with and comparable to high-end car radio reception sensitivity.
8 the use of liquid crystal displays, working status.
9 receiving FM (campus radio), medium wave and short wave band program.
10 the use of U.S. special software radio digital signal processing chip, the performance is good, stable and reliable receiver, there is no frequency drift.
11 with three sets of selection methods:
* Computer Memory 90 stations pre-set
* Automatic search for radio
* Manual search radio station
12 set memory scanning, scan, while the order is automatically saved by the radio frequency.
13 digital clock and auto-shutdown feature 10-90 minutes of sleep.
14 setting the boot features convenient time to listen to radio programs or as an alarm clock.
15 set calendar, allowing you instant information about month, day and week.
16 set FM stereo, and distribution of high-quality hi-fi stereo headphones, the sound is more beautiful sounds, there are sound effects.
17 accompanied by soft external antenna, FM and shortwave radio receiver, use an external antenna to improve reception.
18 using two AA batteries or external power supply.

Best shortwave under $25?  Time owned: 0 to 3 months
The Kchibo is about the size of a cassette tape, but nevertheless provides an implementation of the Silicon Labs si4734 chip. As you would expect from the chipset, FM performance is stellar. I can pick up 33 stations easily. Its AM performance with such a tiny loopstick stretching across the narrow dimension of the radio is abysmal. Even strong local stations are noisy. Shortwave is in the middle.

Contrary to the manufacturer's description, the radio is not limited to 9kHz steps on AM. It can be set to 10 with a complex set of key holding and pressing. However, AM performance is so bad that setting it is probably a waste of time. There is also a an undocumented "loud/soft" setting that moderates the analog volume control range.

The radio is tuned three ways: up/down button, scan up/down and memory pre-set. There is also a button that jumps between the international shortwave broadcast bands. Coverage is continuous.

I was really surprised to get this much radio for less than $25 including shipping from Hong Kong. The radio is tiny and has a real brushed aluminum front panel. My main complaints are the lack of a dial light, the fact that all of the labels are in Chinese, that you have to hit buttons very many times to tune the radio, and the really sucky performance on AM. The other drawback is that there is no English language manual for the radio. There is an English version of the radio, the KK-E202 but that manual is at variance with how the D202 works.

I get the impression that the radio is supposed to have a mode that will scan and set the preset memories based on the product description, but I have not found any way to accomplish it.

I'm taking the price into consideration when giving the radio a rating of 4.
