The KLM 661 was a substantially built and is a collector's item

The KLM 661 as it is known Stateside is in fact a base station 50MHz all mode built in Japan by National Panasonic and marketed there previously as the RJX 661. It is attractively styled with built in power supply and nice orange analogue display. The transmit audio is pleasant as is recieved audio. One attractive function is the record output which will record your part of the QSO as well as the DX side. The one I have is still in daily operation is is one of the nicest 6M radios I have owned.
A smaller cousin is the RJX 601 which was AM/FM portable also produced by National Panasonic. They also did produce an HF transceiver which I believe was the 1011, these radios were also marketed under the Hygain brand at one stage.
Of radios of similar class and era (Late 70's) I would consider by rank would be Yaesu FT625RD, Kenwood TS-600.
