retrofit kits  Time owned: 0 to 3 months
Parasitic-Suppressor Retrofit-Kits include nickel-chromium-iron alloy wire; 430'F / 221'C tin-silver solder and nichrome soldering flux, glitch protection and RF-NFB resistors; capacitors; 200a-peak glitch protection diodes; instructions; diagrams and an easier-to-understand, condensed version of the Oct 1988 QST article.

Tons of info on his site , PLUS, Richard includes lots of information with the kits he sends.

Retrofit kits for high power amplifiers, and glitch protection mods.Very reasonable priced. You DO have to have basic electronics knowledge and amplifier basics to really do it right. Winding the nichrome coil was easier than I thought and soldering with the highly corrosive flux and silver solder was a snap.Read and re read his warnings on soldering with the flux and you will be OK.

I installed his parts in a 1978 SB220 and everything works as expected. I emailed and spoke with Richard several times and he is a wealth of knowledge.

He send you the kit and an invoice and THEN you pay!!! His trust and help to fellow hams is amazing.

For $20 I have peace of mind now. I also elected to use the glitch resistors
