I was looking for an analyser that would give a graphic display over a swept range of frequencies.
I have used an MFJ 259B for many years, and have built a VK5JST analyser, both of which work in a similar way, and are very valuable aids, but you need to make manual frequency changes and record readings to get a picture.

I looked at many network analysers, some looked good and were very expensive, some were not so expensive, but had tiny screens.

I saw the review of the Mk II from DG8FBV here, looked at his web site, and contacted him with some questions, He was a great help, and I subsequently bought the Mk III version.

The quality of the kit is excellent, and every part is supplied, right down to the screws and a plug for the charger socket. Absolutely everything is included.

The assembly is very easy, though I think it would be fair to say that good soldering skills are needed, and so is a fair amount of building experience. This would not be a first project, especially if you do not speak German, as all the documentation is in German. This did not hinder the building, but it is essential that you understand the testing procedure, and the calibration procedure.

The screen is large and clear, it seems to be a touch screen, though I donít see any use of that (yet :) ).

It is an absolute pleasure to use, the software is well thought out, making menu selection and value changes intuitive.

Certainly one of my best purchases, and I have no hesitation in recommending it.
