Easy to use. Never loose your database!  Time owned: more than 12 months
Chose this software because it was free and because the data is duplicated on every computer using the software. Add a computer at any time and that computer gets all the data too. Turn off a computer and when that computer restarts it gets all the updates via a wireless router for the network. Amazing.

Tracks who is using what band and mode. Alerts when a band or mode is open for your class (like 3A but currently only being 2A). Every operator knows what band and mode is available at any time. Very helpful when everybody is spread out at Field Day. Dupes are shared instantly.

Was able to print out the log after field day by operator or by logger and fill out the web submission easily.

Look forward to any updates on the software.

Excellent FD program for multi-station operation.  Time owned: more than 12 months
We've used FDLog since the author (Alan, W6AKB - formerly WB6ZQZ) first wrote it some years ago. It is a very efficient Field Day program, and the most recent version will work for the ARRL VHF contests as well.

The fact that it networks all the stations together and lets each station see what other bands and modes are currently in use makes managing your contest class a breeze. And it's great to be able to see stats like current total score, WAS status, and number of contacts per op at any time during the contest.

My favorite feature is the contact entry format. You can start by typing just the call suffix and then a space. The software looks up all calls that have been worked with that suffix and displays them. If you don't see that it's a dupe, now type the call prefix followed by a space and FDLog glues the prefix and suffix together. Then continue typing the rest of the exchange. It's a great time saver.

And of course you can start by typing the full callsign and then hitting the space key. In that case, if the call is a dupe, FDLog will let you know right away with an on-screen message.

Other than the ability to do a quick check on the suffix of the callsign, the entry format is very simple. Everything entered after the callsign is stored as text. This works fine for FD because the exchange format is pretty much fixed. And when it comes time to send in the logs to ARRL, FDLog's has a built in function that splits the entries into the correct format and generates the log file for submission to the ARRL.

All in all, I highly recommend this software for FD operations, especially where multiple stations are operating under a single callsign.
