Excellent MW receiver  Time owned: more than 12 months
With its powerful top-mounted rotating ferrite loopstick antenna, this portable marine direction-finding radio excels in MW (AM band) coverage, and I have not found a receiver than can best its sensitivity to faint signals. There is a DF level meter and volume control as well as a tone control and AFC switch. It is actually possible to triangulate AM radio stations with this portable, something not all "direction finding" portables could actually accomplish. AIR and VHF reception is OK, while LW is limited to pulling in the local air beacons. The old 1600 -4000 MHz marine band isn't of much use anymore.
