BJ-150V WARNING  Time owned: 0 to 3 months
This BJ-150V amplifier is being sold in large quantities as an amplifier for hand held 2m rigs etc.The case is generic - being used for a hf amp as well as others hence the ssb/am switch.A lot of the advertising tells you that it is ssb/fm and even gives you the input and output power figures of up to 100 watts ssb.PLEASE NOTE THIS IS NOT A LINEAR AMPLIFIER.It has 3 switches on the front panel,off/on,high/low power-not connected and ssb/am not connected. On fm it is rated at 50 watts but 45 is probably realistic. It has a driver transistor driving an MRF247.The solder job is the worst i have ever seen on a circuit board.
Price from China approx $US78.
Having said all that it is a neat little unit and i have sorted out a circuit to make it run in linear mode using an LM317.If there is any interest i will post a pic with mods and circuit. If you are not experienced don't try to do it yourself - the transistor is not forgiving !!!!
You can see why i gave it a 2 rating. However it has potential and the price is right.

low price with good quality  Time owned: 0 to 3 months
This amp is great!! of course you can compare it with TE. But at least it worthy the price. There is no noise even if I turn the volume up.I received it a month ago and still use it.
