The phone is a cell phone and cantankerous. If no answer leave a message and I'll return the call.

Fantastic service  Time owned: more than 12 months
I had 10 watts gone into my TS850S and Cliff advised me about the suspected bad components in the receiver frontend. He sent 2 DTC124EK transistors that I could not find and the rig works perfect again.
Great service from Cliff, he sent the transistors for free!

Highly Recommended  Time owned: 0 to 3 months
The GPS jack on my THD7A jarred loose on a long motorcycle trip. Of course, the APRS information then stopped, and the map showed I was on a rural country road somewhere near Preston, Idaho, and within a few hours my wife was ready to call search & rescue ... so it had to be fixed!

One look at the tiny case convinced me to send it away rather than trying to fix it myself. I found this shop on eHam, read the reviews, and sent it off. Clif did a very professional job in a reasonable time at a very modest price and it's now working fine. Thanks!

My only quibble is that I wish he'd sent me an email confirming receipt of the rig with some idea of how long the queue was before he could get to mine.

Clif is the BEST!!!!  Time owned: more than 12 months
I e-mailed Clif about a problem I had with my Kenwood TS-930S and he quickly sent me a message back with instructions how to fix the problem. I repaired it myself and offered to pay for his services and he would not take any money. Now thats what you call service !! I saved shipping both ways and payed no repair fees. It did not cost me a dime! I can tell you that any service I need in the future will be headed Clifs way. Guys like Clif are few and far between. Thanks Again Clif!! 73, N1YPZ

Great Service  Time owned: months
My 8 year old TS-570 quit transmitting and as in many cities these days, there is no reliable repair shop for amateur equipment in Phoenix. Based mostly on the reviews I found here I sent the rig to Clif and was very pleased with the results. He quickly found the problem and repaired the radio sooner than promised. I put it on the air as soon as I got it back and get the same good reports as when it was new. Output on my wattmeter is greater than spec and I am happy again. I only wish he also serviced Yaesu so I could send my broken Mark V for the same great service.

Repair of TS-50, went the extra mile  Time owned: 6 to 12 months
I had a broken TS-50 and Clif invested far more time in it than he billed me for. Some parts had to come from Japan. I got it back and seemed it had low output on some bands and he went over checks with me on the phone and then had me send it back to recheck it all at his expense. All was okay. I have nothing but the utmost respect for Clif. Very fair and honest. Bob

Knowledgeable and generous with his time  Time owned: more than 12 months
Clif has been a frequent contributor to all things Kenwood. He contributes when he can help with the knowledgeable recipient and he will withhold comment when his comments might confuse the less knowledgeable person. I have monitored his comments and his contributions for several years and find that when he does contribute something, it is thoughtful, productive and helpful. He has helped me immeasurably with either a direct comment or what he has said to others. Guru is the appropriate description when it comes to Clif. Just my personal experience. 73s Jerry N0XWR

Made matters worse  Time owned: 0 to 3 months
I, for one, experienced none of the AVVid charm described by so many other eHam reviewers. I found him to be assuming, condescending and cantankerous. My TS2000 came back after a month with the same symptoms I sent it in with, plus now all the settings and four years of memory channels are wiped out. Fist he said he noticed a problem with the ALC, then said there was no problem. I asked him why he zapped all the settings if he found nothing wrong with the radio. He replied that he just always resets processor based radios when he gets them. I would think the first objective would be to do no harm, but apparently it's all about Cliff. I'm still cleaning all his scotch tape off the chassis. It was an insulting experience and a wast of my time and money.

The very Best.  Time owned: 0 to 3 months
I just purchased my Kenwood TS 870s had it about a week and the transmit died. So I sent it to Clif, All I can say is absolutely great. Clif is one of the nicest guy to deal with. I contacted him many times and he was always a pleasure to talk to. All I can say is if you have a problem with your Kenwood send it to Clif. If I every have any more trouble I will use his repair service again. Just Great Period!. Also by the way, I had two predriver for my rig, Clif let me sent them to him without forcing me to order new ones, now how about that. You don't find many people willing to help you save money this day in age. The cost is more than fair.

TS-2000X Repairs were Great, Reasonable and Pormpt.  Time owned: more than 12 months
I have used AVVID two times and my experiences have been excellent for both. Much better than my experiences with Kenwood East. AVVID actually does component level repair, not just board swaps. Prices are very reasonable and service is prompt. Communications are very good also. My two problems were with a TS-2000X. Both were difficult to find problems, but AVVID found the problems and fixed them.
