K3MD  Time owned: 3 to 6 months
Have had for 5 months.
Obtained for $270 USD on EBay.
For the price it can't be beat.
It got a negative review in QST.. you NEED the RT Systems programming software. It is VERY easy to program from this software, and you can take your laptop out to the car to program in a different route you got from the ARRL TravelPlus. You cannot directly program from TravelPlus as in the Kenwood TM-V71A... you must manually put in each repeater in the program.. easy.
No problem with intermod or power drop out. It would be nice to get a readout in frequency of the memory channels, otherwise it would be a 5. The programming cable is included in the base price.

Just Great !  Time owned: 0 to 3 months
Bought this @ $279/E249.
That is a very competative price.
The known shortcomings from the R-version has been addressed:
+ intermodulation an harmonics much better
+ rotary knob: working ok now.
+ broadband receive has been limited, so better front end

I love the 3 power positions (@Kenwood: learn from it!)

Great performance, especially regarding the price.
Think you can go better? Spend more money and buy K,Y, or I. Not for me! This one's sufficient.
