Great preamp for Test Equipment  Time owned: 0 to 3 months
I have a lot of test equipment and some of my counters are somewhat hard of hearing. I keep the RF output of the signal generators low.
Although I can crank up the output and use a step attenuator, I prefer the preamp approach.
I needed a replacement for one of my Pagel counter preamps that died a nasty death from battery corrosion. I came across the AZD kit on eBay. It uses a MAR-6SM MMIC and a couple other parts.
Excellent board and the output is a perfect reproduction of the sine wave input. Don't let the surface mount parts deter you, it is VERY easy to build.
I could not be more pleased with this nice little kit!
